A Guide to Seattle Pride

Seattle Pride runs nearly the entire month of June, beginning on the 1st with a Pride flag raising ceremony at City Hall, and concluding with a parade and festival at Seattle Center on the 25th. If you’re stopping by the city for even just a quick trip in June, there are plenty of ways that you can participate, and support the local LGBTQ+ community—grab a spot along 4th St. to cheer on the parade, get a bite to eat at a neighborhood restaurant, or catch a game of women’s hoops at Key Arena.

Pride Parade

The 2.5 hour long parade kicks off at 4th & Union in Downtown Seattle, and winds towards Second Avenue and Denny Way near Seattle Center. This year’s theme is “Indivisible,” as organizers hoped to highlight the strength that exists in solidarity, and encourage participants to see every struggle for equality and justice as inextricably linked.

Dine With Pride

During the month of June, over 50 Seattle restaurants and cafes create special “Dine With Pride” dining offers in support and recognition of LGBTQ+ patrons. Since much of the month’s events take place in Downtown Seattle, it’s a simple way to permeate surrounding neighborhoods with acts of solidarity and love.

Volunteer Park Pride Festival

The Volunteer Park Pride Festival runs Saturday, 6/10 from noon until 7PM. It offers live music, a beer garden, food trucks, craft booths, and games throughout the event. Meant as a celebration of LGBTQ+ community and culture, the festival offers families and friends the opportunity to connect in one of Seattle’s most iconic parks.

Pride Night at Key Arena

Catch the Seattle Storm game on 6/23, and watch the women inch closer to a run at the WNBA national championship. As an added bonus, non-profit organization Equal Rights Washington will receive a portion of every ticket sold, enabling them to continue to fight for all LGBTQ+ Washingtonians.
