If you’re an expert wine-er and diner, you probably already know that Seattle is one of the best cities in the world to enjoy outstanding vino and other agricultural products. Washington’s unique landscape ranges from deep, temperate rainforest, to glacier carved inlets, to arid desert basins. This richness in terrain translates to an incredible wealth of delicious, fresh food for you to eat. Each spring, Taste Washington serves as a delicious reminder of our state’s bounty. Be sure to check out some of these awesome events that highlight the state’s greatest edible (and drinkable!) treasures.
Red & White Party – March 22
Held at Seattle’s bright and airy waterfront seafood restaurant, AQUA by El Gaucho, the Red & White Party offers Washington winemakers the opportunity to pour their most prized bottles for a crowd of appreciative connoisseurs. A $175 ticket gives you access to a beautifully curated meal and wine pairing.
Taste Washington on the Farm – March 23
Celebrate Washington’s agricultural diversity by enjoying a farm excursion hosted by Taste Washington. Seize the opportunity to discover local products alongside celebrated regional chefs, winemakers and farmers. Each of the four events offered this year features a guided farm tour, lunch, and wine pairing.
The New Vintage – March 23
If you love top notch wines, gourmet nibbles and mingling with celebrity chefs, you better mark your calendar for this year’s New Vintage party at Fisher Pavilion. Food and mingling are fun, but one of the biggest draws has to be the venue itself–featuring floor-to-ceiling windows, two-acres of greenspace, and a beautiful roof-top plaza, it’s the perfect place to spend a fancy Friday night.
Grand Tasting – March 24-25
230 Washington wineries, 65 acclaimed restaurants and chefs, two days: buckle up and get sampling at Taste Washington’s main event, the two-day Grand Tasting held at CenturyLink Field. If your Instagram is mostly just an homage to your favorite brunch spots, donuts, cheeseburgers topped with eggs-over-easy, and wine flights, you won’t want to miss this.
