Summer Loving in Seattle

Summer Loving in Seattle

We love Seattle in any season. But there’s something truly magical about the Pacific Northwest in the summertime. Longer days mean more time to enjoy the great outdoors in and around Seattle, and the city puts on a slew of fun-filled local events.

From some insights into where to lay in the sun, to an introduction to some exciting happenings here at the Pan Pacific—we are excited to share this guide to enjoying summer in Seattle.

Beaches in Seattle

Seattle is surrounded by gorgeous nature, and throughout all of its outdoor spaces, there are plenty of pretty shores to hang on. Between its many lakes and bays, Seattle has over two-hundred miles of fresh and saltwater shoreline. Whether you want a scenic spot to lay on a towel and get that summer tan, or you’re looking for a mixture of beach, park, and something special—we know exactly where to send you.

Among our favorite beaches to visit in the summer in Seattle, Alki Beach Park is a top choice. From here you can gander at the distant Olympic Mountain Range and the world-famous Puget Sound. Some other popular shorelines to hit include Madison Beach Park, Green Lake Beaches, and Lowman Beach Park. For some more details, check out our guide on Where to Enjoy Beach Vibes in Seattle

Parks in Seattle

Another summer-friendly attraction in Seattle is its vast network of outdoor parks and green spaces. If you don’t have the time to enjoy a long day trip outside of the city, you can still enjoy majestic views, challenging hikes, and lounging afternoons right here in town. Among our many parks there are thousands upon thousands of acres of hiking trails, biking paths, plantlife from around the world, beaches and so much more.

One of our favorite parks in Seattle is the Washington Park Arboretum UW Botanic Gardens. The 230-acre space features a collection of rare trees from around the world, and a pristine Japanese garden. Some of our other favorites include the sprawling Discovery Park, Seward Park, and the Olympic Sculpture Park. For more examples and details, check out this guide to Seattle’s Best Parks.

Summer Events At Pan Pacific

In addition to the many outdoor destinations you can retreat to and enjoy this summer, Pan Pacific Seattle is creating some special events for the summer season.

One of the summer events we are particularly excited for at Pan Pacific Seattle is our Sunrise Yoga series, which will be offered on the last Saturday of each summer month. Taught by an experienced instructor, available slots in these classes will be complimentary for guests on a first-come first-served basis. We are also particularly excited to enjoy Yappy Hour throughout the summer, which is a dog-friendly happy hour every Thursday on The Patio at Pan Pacific.

In addition to the events, this summer the Pan Pacific Hotel will take part in the James Beard Blended Burger Project. This activity challenges restaurants nationwide to create blended burgers of chopped mushrooms and meat to create a healthier, more sustainable dish. You can check out our version at the Lobby Bar. It includes shitake, crimini blend, garbanzo spinach, tillamook cheddar, shallos, and sriracha aioli on a pretzel bun.
