Earth Day takes place every year, and it’s an important day for recognizing and celebrating the planet. Seattle annually hosts a large number of Earth Day festivities, adequately representing the strong environmentally conscious culture here. Last year there were a number of Earth Day parties including one in Red Square and at Environmental Works. There were also readings and talks throughout town, Earth Day-themed exhibits, plant walks at the Washington Park Arboretum, an Earth Day Extravaganza at the Tacoma Nature Center and a whole lot more.
This year, expect dozens of similar events, plus the city’s Earth Day Run—a 5K, 10K and half marathon held on April 20 that honors each finisher with a tree planted in their name.
