School’s Out: Family Friendly Activities In Seattle

The Pan Pacific Seattle prides itself on accommodating both you and your little one. We know traveling with kids can be tough! Enjoy a wide variety of family-friendly amenities—like bath toys, bedtime snacks, and Amazon Fires for kids—to help your kids adapt to being away from home. Looking for ways to keep both the babies and the parents entertained while out and about in the city? Here are a few of our favorite family-friendly activities around Seattle.

Seattle Center – International Fountain

On a hot city day, there’s nothing more refreshing than a quick skip through Seattle Center’s International Fountain. Splash around with your kids in the shadows of the iconic Space Needle.

Washington State Ferries

If your kid is into Thomas the Tank Engine, chances are, they’re going to love Seattle’s nautical train alternatives.Take a ferry across Puget Sound and introduce your kid to seagulls, sea otters, and maybe even a killer whale.

Gas Works Park

Once the site of the Seattle Gas Light Company’s gasification plant, this quirky, 19-acre park is a popular spot for picnics, kite-flying and games of “tag.” We love its man-made hill overlooking Lake Union—it’s the perfect spot to count the boats bobbing along the bay. Gas Works Park: 2101 N Northlake Way

Space Needle

This iconic observation tower may seem like a Seattle cliché, but trust us when we tell you, the view from the top suggests otherwise. Your kids will feel like they’re on top of the world once they get a glimpse of the Emerald City from 520 feet. $26 gets you to the observation deck, with kids’ tickets just $17. Space Needle: 400 Broad St.

Burke Museum of Natural History and Culture

If your kids love dinosaurs, you’ll definitely want to visit the Burke Museum of Natural History and Culture. Perhaps one of the coolest current exhibits is a live unveiling of a recently found t-rex skull. Watch as paleontologists carefully expose the 60-million-year-old, 3,000 pound dino head before your very eyes. Burke Museum of Natural History and Culture: 1413 NE 45th St.; 206-543-7907.
